Who Could Have Thought it Would Happen to Stratford?

Stratford, who could have thought it?

River Lea, Walthamstow, Leyton, Hackney Marshes, Wild Grasses, Hay Fever, Trainspotting, Football, Cricket, Courting.  Canals, Towpaths, Cycling, Picnicking; Children, Families, Grandparents laughing together.
Never imagined this could happen in my backyard. I am still playing on the marshes, this time in the Olympic Opening Ceremony.

2012 Olympic Mens Marathon

The men’s marathon was run on a very different circuit from the annual London marathon and involved three eight mile laps and a two mile finish, hence it was difficult to find good angles given the very large crowd of spectators.  All of the shot were taken in Eastcheap.

More information about the event and results the official Olympic site.

John Rayment – #walkingthecoast

On 1 August 2012 retired lecturer, John Rayment, started his 6,000 miles walk round the coast of Britain, raising money for Parkinson’s Charities with a send off by family and friends at Tilbury passenger ferry.

Why not follow John’s progress on Facebook:-

Or on Twitter:-

The walk will be a test of John’s physical, mental and spiritual fitness.  Recent research shows that donations motivate each of these attributes of fitness so after a quick look at the photos below why not click through to John’s fund raising page:-

John welcomes family, friends and total strangers to walk with him for any part of his journey.
